A person I know lives just outside of town. She keeps a few chickens.

Recently a mountain lion visited their coop, dug into it, attacked and began devouring one of the birds. The others raised a shrieking calamitous racket which drew the owner from her bed, arriving just in time to witness the last stages of the primeval deed.

Months later and the remaining chickens still won't go into the coop.
